  • Permanent Full-Time Career Opportunity as a Land Use Planner – 35 hours per week
  • Attractive salary ranging from $1,620 up to $1,862.90

Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Assess and determine development applications under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Council’s Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plans (DCPs).

  • Provide high-quality, timely advice and professional reports to support informed decision-making.

  • Collaborate with applicants, residents, developers, and internal teams to deliver compliant, balanced, and customer-focused outcomes.

  • Monitor development activity, investigate breaches, and ensure compliance with consent conditions.

  • Represent Council in committees, stakeholder forums, and Land and Environment Court mediation as required.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, digital systems, and customer experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You’re a proactive planner with a passion for shaping sustainable communities and a strong understanding of NSW planning frameworks. You thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and customer engagement are key.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.

  • Experience in development assessment within Local Government or consultancy.

  • Strong understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

  • A current Class C Driver’s Licence.

You’ll also demonstrate:
