Job Description
What You’ll Do
Assess and determine development applications under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Council’s Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plans (DCPs).
Provide high-quality, timely advice and professional reports to support informed decision-making.
Collaborate with applicants, residents, developers, and internal teams to deliver compliant, balanced, and customer-focused outcomes.
Monitor development activity, investigate breaches, and ensure compliance with consent conditions.
Represent Council in committees, stakeholder forums, and Land and Environment Court mediation as required.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, digital systems, and customer experience.

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You’re a proactive planner with a passion for shaping sustainable communities and a strong understanding of NSW planning frameworks. You thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and customer engagement are key.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
Experience in development assessment within Local Government or consultancy.
Strong understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
A current Class C Driver’s Licence.
You’ll also demonstrate:
