Job Description

The Opportunity

Provide technical, administrative and contract management support to the Roads & Transport team, assisting with the delivery of road infrastructure projects, Transport for NSW Road Maintenance Council Contracts (RMCC), and civil works programs. Contribute to the efficient delivery of Council's road network through contract administration, project coordination, technical reporting and compliance activities while supporting continuous improvement across the department

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical, administrative and project support to the Roads & Transport team, ensuring efficient service delivery and achievement of operational deadlines.
  • Coordinate the administration of RMCC and civil works contracts, including quotations, purchase orders, contractor documentation and contract compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, maintenance plans, traffic management plans and technical reports to support road infrastructure works.
  • Build effective relationships with Council staff, contractors and Transport for NSW.
  • Assist with project coordination, process improvements and compliance audits to support the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of road infrastructure services.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and services while maintaining high standards of administration and customer service.
  • Contribute to Council’s strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and governance requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You're an organised and proactive professional with experience in contract administration, project support and technical documentation, who can build strong relationships, manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, compliant outcomes in a fast-paced Roads & Transport environment.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in either Business Administration, Project Management, Civil Engineering or Civil Construction AND/OR relevant experience administering TfNSW RMCC (Road Maintenance Council Contract)
  • Ability to work in a team member and unsupervised, with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with people at all levels and officers from government utilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to exercise judgement and strong attention to detail in the preparation of high-quality documentation.
  • Strong computer skills for the operation of databases, spread sheets and presentation software plus word processing skills.
