  • Permanent Full-Time – 35 hours per week

Job Description

The Opportunity

Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Assistant to the Directors, General Manager and Mayor, while assisting with executive functions across the Mayor, Councillors, and Council Directorates. Support the efficient operation of the Executive Office through coordinating meetings, correspondence, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to effective governance and service delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Executive Office, ensuring efficient service delivery and meeting organisational deadlines.
  • Assist with governance functions, including Council meetings, workshops, reporting and maintaining compliance and records.
  • Manage executive correspondence and enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate and professional responses.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Councillors, staff, and stakeholders to support Executive Office outcomes.
  • Provide flexible support during peak periods, absences, and priority activities to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and services while maintaining high standards of administration and customer service.
  • Contribute to Council’s strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and governance requirements.

About You

You are an organised and motivated professional who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver high-quality support. You have strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to support the Director, General Manager, and Mayor.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Governance, Executive Support or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships, communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and prepare clear, accurate and professional correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism and integrity.
