Job Description
At Moree Plains Shire Council, we are looking for an articulate, methodical, and proactive professional to join our Corporate & Community department. If you have a sharp attention to detail and a passion for strengthening organisational accountability and transparency, we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Risk & Customer Service, you will provide high-level strategic support to council. You will be responsible for coordinating Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) framework, ensuring that our strategic objectives are met with accurate data, professional reporting, and presented to council and community in a timely fashion.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the IPR framework, including the development and review of the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, and Operational Plan.
Leading corporate reporting processes, preparing quarterly, annual, and end-of-term reports that are accurate and professionally presented.
Aligning strategic and resourcing plans, such as the Long-Term Financial Plan and Workforce Management Strategy, to ensure legislative compliance.
Driving organisational improvement through strategic projects that enhance operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Supporting the Executive Leadership Team by preparing high-quality briefing papers, presentations, and correspondence.
Administering corporate planning systems, developing training and guidance materials to improve reporting consistency across the organisation.
Coordinating strategic advocacy and regional collaboration by building productive relationships with government agencies and neighbouring councils.
The location for this role is the Max Centre in Moree.
You are an organised professional with strong time management and communication skills . You possess the ability to navigate complex political and organisational environments while maintaining a focus on high-quality outcomes and statutory deadlines.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Public Administration, Governance, Communications, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) and performance reporting processes.
Highly developed written communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex strategic documents and submissions.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with government and regional organisations.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
Experience administering corporate systems and enhancing organisational capability across a diverse workforce.
Required Tickets, Licences and/or Qualifications:
Current Class C Driver's Licence.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in Local Government or the public sector.
Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and contemporary governance frameworks.
Required Clearances and Checks:
National Criminal History Check.
NSW Working with Children Check.
Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
